OCEAN freight forwarder, Damco has opened a new office in Djibouti.

With already 32 offices across 26 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Damco’s new office in the Horn of Africa will assist with logistic challenges faced by import and export customers in Ethiopia and Djibouti.

Damco says its customers in the area will benefit from the company’s ocean freight forwarding, customs clearance and extensive inland transportation services.

"Djibouti is the key gateway into the Horn of Africa, in particular for Ethiopia, and benefits from modern shipping terminals and an array of shipping lines servicing the port,” Damco Africa CEO, Nils Havsager says.

According to Damco’s Djibouti head of operations, Mandeep Singh, the new office will be part of the company’s plan to launch a number of reefer solutions, providing a competitive mode of transport and supporting customers in Ethiopia.
