THE NSW government has unveiled plans for the development of Port Kembla’s Outer Harbour.

According to GAC Australia, the state government has estimated the Port Kembla expansion will be completed within five years.

The development will include the reclamation of approximately 52 hectares of land and the construction of seven new berths for containers and shipping cargo.

GAC Australia says the Outer Harbour Development has the potential to address the needs of new industry and as new trade opportunities arise

“The port will be able to respond accordingly,” GAC Australia says.

The New South Wales State Government has appointed consulting engineers to undertake site investigations, detailed reclamation design and preliminary berth design for the outer harbour.
