Two top Asciano executives set sail

TRANSPORT infrastructure company Asciano has announced the general manager of its Patrick container ports division, Doug Shultz, had resigned.

The group said Shultz has resigned to pursue other career opportunities and will leave officially on 14 August 2009.

Asciano said the new manager for the Patrick container port division will be Paul Garaty, currently the head of the Pacific National intermodal business.

The Patrick container ports division operates terminals at Australia's four major ports: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

Asciano also announced that chief operating officer Don Telford would retire after various management changes were in place.

The company reported that until Telford retires, Asciano's divisional managers will report directly to Asciano chief executive Mark Rowsthorn.
