ACCUWEIGH’s QWM branch recently supplied a portable weighbridge for weighing shipping containers prior to loading onto small ships that distribute freight to the smaller ports in the Solomon Island region.
According to the company, Accuweigh’s portable weighbridges are fully galvanised and utilise five metre weighbridge deck sections connected in any number to provide the required weighbridge length.
The portable weighbridges carry full trade approvals in Australia and due to the all metal construction offer greatly reduced installation costs compared to concrete deck weighbridges, the company said.
The accurate weight data that will be provided by Accuweigh’s portable weighbridge will allow the ship loading staff to better manage the correct positioning of the shipping containers to provide increased ship stability by eliminating unbalanced loadings.
